Computational Engineering – Bridging the gap between the disciplines

Technical developments are becoming increasingly complex and are based largely on mathematical principles. Engineers are thus dependent on efficient hardware and software and knowledge of the methods of computer science as a key competence. So they can successfully develop new products, compare technical solutions or predict the effects of design decisions. Computational Engineering (CE) was developed in response to these insights and combines computer science, mathematics and engineering as equal interdisciplinary curriculum in a degree program. CE is an internationally recognized discipline that deals with the solution to physical problems in science and technology using mathematical models, computer and software systems.
